So...do you do anything besides...be strong?

Oh, yes, I am also often employed to promote businesses. I can usually get a great many people to enter any given establishment.

How?

Oh, well, my natural charm, [He- He may be flexing at you right now, Roxas.] and charisma. I've got a sort of natural way with people.

You do?

Could you show me? I'm...not very good with people.

[There is a pause as he stares Roxas in the eye, determining if he's serious or not.]

Perhaps I could do something, yes. What is your name?

I'm Roxas.

Roxas. I am Captain Hammer, and it's a pleasure to meet someone so interested in such qualities. Would you like to meet up to discuss them?

Yeah! I mean...if you're not busy.

Splendid! Where shall I meet you?

By the fountain?

And no sooner had the words left Roxas' mouth than Captain Hammer was by the fountain; he didn't have that much distance to go, really. He had only seen him over the network, but he'd surely be able to tell the boy from that short time. So for now, he waited for Roxas to arrive.

[It's easy enough to recognize the man waiting for him. He looks even more confident in himself in real life than over the network.]

Hi—I'm Roxas.

Well he can't exactly vouch for his sense of fashion, but his demeanor is very much what he would expect from the way he acted and spoke in their conversation. He steps over to him and loudly greets him..

"Roxas! How splendid to meet you face to face. I am Captain Hammer. You need to learn how to interact with people, hm?"

Yeah, that's pretty much what Roxas expected. He's a little uneasy, but this guy has to know what he's talking about. Maybe he can learn something.

"Yeah, something like that." He hesitated. "It's just...see, I don't have a heart. I'm a Nobody. And I don't remember what it was like when I did have a heart, so it's weird sometimes."

He stares a little, before suddenly understanding.

"Now, Roxas, that can't be. You shouldn't believe something told to you by someone who dislikes you. There are figures of speech. Were you callous to the person who told you this?"

Roxas stares back, very much not understanding.

"It wasn't anyone who dislikes me...I think," he said uncertainly. "It's not a figure of speech. Nobodies are people who've lost their hearts. It's what I am."

"And that's rule number one. You've got to have more self-confidence in yourself!" He drapes an arm over Roxas' shoulder in a friendly manner. "Self-confidence is the key to the vault of the success in social interactions." He pauses slightly, considering that statement, before continuing. "So no more of this considering yourself a no one."

[OoC: I've gotta say, it's oddly satisfying and hilarious doing that from the other end. 8)]

"Um...right!" Roxas stood up straight, doing his best to...stand...in a more confident fashion.

He wasn't sure how that looked. But he'd do his best anyone.

"So...what next?"

"Much better!" He grins at him, pleased at how well he's doing already. "Now, the next thing you've got to remember is to always act as though everyone is watching you." He pans his right arm from left to right, still on his shoulder with his left, as he talks about the general public, for emphasis.

"Because in many cases, they are." He catches the eyes of two ladies walking past them, he winks at them, and they giggle, one blowing a kiss towards Hammer, and the other waving at Roxas a little. "See what I mean?"

"Like they're watching me?" Roxas grimaced at the very idea. Aside from the fact that he'd be doing a bad job at recon if that happened, he just really didn't like the idea.

He frowned in the direction of the women. "Why are they giggling?"

"Of course, that way you're always ensured to act your best." He pauses intentionally for dramatics, "Not that I need to act."

He watched them walk away, keeping their faces in mind for later; he'd tell them the story of helping educate a young boy. Definitely liable to get him one of them, if not both.

"They're just happy to see people helping one another. And I'll bet they think you're cute, too!" He jovially punches his shoulder, but at least now he's not leaning on him anymore.

The longest this went, the more confused Roxas was getting. It wasn't anything like he'd imagined, and he really wasn't sure what giggling had to do with anything.

But he couldn't leave now. It'd be rude, after the guy went out of his way to help him like this.

"I'm not cute," he muttered, rubbing at his shoulder. That hurt a little.

"Don't worry, cute is good. You can use it. And that brings me to my next point. A smile communicates in a hundred languages." Roxas seemed a little difficult, but he would get it in the end. He seemed bright enough, perhaps.

"A smile...I can smile."

He could, right? He'd smiled before. Sure, maybe that was when he'd been with Xion and Axel, but a smile was a smile. Simple.

He smiled. At least, that's what he thought he was doing. It looked more like a rictus grin.

Well. That was.

"Of course, these things come easier with practice."
