amansgottadowhat: (There's plenty of me to go around)

8-Inside of my glorious mind

Unidentifiable foes, although there is a suspiciously familiar lab coat and goggles adorning one of them, lie at his feet, defeated, perhaps unconscious, perhaps without a pulse any longer.

But he is in a lovely stereotypical flower-filled field, surrounded by women at his arms, and lots of celebration going on and a parade, for him, in the background. You can tell it's for him because of his face being plastered everywhere.

[OoC: Sorry for late! Do whatever, say whatever, whoever is welcome.]

Alice turns around once or twice. "Jeeze, it's good to know someone here has good dreams. The last one..." she shudders vaguely.

Noticing the star of this particular dream she pauses, "Oh. Hi."

"Ah, Alice. How lovely to see you here. But then, of course, it makes sense that you'd be in a dream, considering you are one." Okay, so he's usually bad, but, hey, he probably wouldn't use that line when he's awake.

Alice rolls her eyes. She can't figure out whether this man takes himself seriously or not and it's a bit off-putting. Still, anything's better than the metal men and brain dead masses she's just left behind.

"So, uh, who are all these people then?" Alice steps gingerly around one of the bodies lying in the field.

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-21 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, eye-rolling. Definitely wouldn't use that line now. "These? They were the enemies that I faced back home that were always causing trouble for me and the rest of the people."

[identity profile] cutenperky.livejournal.com 2009-04-22 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Are they dead?" Alice pauses, she still isn't used to this dream bit. "I don't suppose it really matters, does it? Cuz they wouldn't be in real life..."

"Hey is Bad Horse anywhere around here?" She really wants to meet this infamous creature and discover just how insane Captain Hammer is.

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-23 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"They are alive outside this dream, and they are merely unconscious within it." Well, probably. And while it doesn't really matter, it's far less disturbing for her if they're not dead, right?

"I've not had the pleasure of defeating him, myself, but I've gone against many of the members of his league." Although, if you started looking in pockets, you might see something similar to this (http://notsohorrible.livejournal.com/2027.html) in one of them. "Although, I did meet his messengers once, I believe . . . " And probably shot- or punched, as it were, the messenger.

[identity profile] cutenperky.livejournal.com 2009-04-23 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, so these are only people you've actually defeated?" Alice pauses and surveys the mass of unconscious people again, there are quite a few of them. "That's actually... rather impressive."

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-23 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"They are indeed. I am only glad that they've not followed into the City." He sees her looking about, and grins. "Why thank you. It was nothing too bad that I couldn't do in order to protect who needed protecting."

"What kind of evil were most of them perpetrating?" Alice isn't sure why she's pursuing this conversation, but the sun feels nice and there is something strangely charming about Captain Hammer despite--or rather, because of his buffoonery.

"Some of them can be robbery, but there are a few in here that have attempted to take over positions of power, kidnapping, hostage situations. All of them rotting lettuce in the salad of life, with no dressing, and the fork dropped on the floor." The atmosphere in his dream would of course make things more charming and irresistible. Not that he needed all too much more help.

[ooc: Best. Metaphor. Ever.]

Alice laughed, "You don't really seem like a salad man. I would've thought some sort of red meat would be more up your ally." Alice can't tell whether she's flirting or not, she's just glad to be having a normal conversation about almost normal things. The fact that the only place she's had a "normal" conversation is in a dream is one she chooses not to think about.

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course Alice was flirting, I mean, just look at him! Not like she wasn't a nice pick, though. "Not with all of those villains in the salad, no." He grinned. "You're quite intuitive, aren't you?"

[OoC: Fff.]

"In my line of work it's helpful to be able to read people, yeah." Alice is grinning right back. What? She always was a sucker for compliments.

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, moving onto her? Well, he could make it work, at least. "Yes? What is it that you do, then?"

[identity profile] cutenperky.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm a journalist. More or less." Alice was quite pleased the conversation had shifted topics. She didn't know what to say about super-villains and saving the day but she could go on about the mundane details of her life infinitely. "I recently got my own radio show. It's important to be able to read people to conduct a good interview," she paused, and looked at him expectantly.

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
At least he knew how to stay afloat in these waters. He'd had experience with interviewers. Lots of experience, if you got his drift.

If he was giving you a drift. "Oh, journalism? That's great. I should have guessed, you conduct yourself extremely well, and you do know your way very well around questioning people."

[identity profile] cutenperky.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, it is a handy skill to have here," Alice looked around blankly, momentarily forgetting where they were. Right, this was a dream and somewhere her physical body was, unfortunately, back in the city. That was how this worked, right? "Everyone here seems to play their cards so close to their chest."

[identity profile] horrible-protag.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
"I can only imagine." He saw her looking around. It really was a perfect setting, wasn't it? And now she wanted him to reveal more and be more relaxed? He could do that no problem. "A shame, isn't it? It's always been my belief that trust and honesty are necessary foundations in any relationship."
