38-He never tires of this curse

Well hello, visitors. To those who remember visiting this place before, welcome back, so lovely to see you again. To those who are new, greetings and welcome. Allow me to help you with anything that you might need or any problems that you run into.

I am Captain Hammer and I am more than happy to be of assistance.

How do you know? I could be a complete and utter bitch and that wouldn't be very lovely, would it?

Ah, but you've been perfectly pleasant to me so far, now haven't you? So I can say that it is, indeed, lovely to meet you.

Actually, I've made fun of your name, but you haven't quite noticed my intention, or you're just immune to sarcasm.

What some people count as teasing, others may count as a compliment. And besides, you only know my name, and not me as a person.

That's something I can't argue with.

Would you like to attempt to get to know me a little more? Perhaps we can get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Oh, why not. Hot chocolate sounds nice enough.

Me? I barely even know this place. You pick, but nothing sleazy.

Cafe Juliet is always a nice little shop.

But of course, I couldn't imagine not paying.

[and with that, he shuts off the device, heading to wait at the Cafe]

Many people have said that he was a terrible flirt. He disagreed with that, though. He was fantastic at flirting. Admittedly, he did charm people quite a lot, but why wouldn't he? It was a great natural gift, like his incredible strength, to be used.

That's not to say that he was intending on getting into Ann's pants, then again not to say that he wasn't, but this meet-up was about proving himself to someone who didn't quite believe. And if Captain Hammer likes one thing, it's good public relations.

Well, and beating up villains. And showing off. And sex. And himself. And-

At any rate, good PR probably made it to the top ten list of 'things that Captain Hammer likes'. So, due to that, here he is, outside of Cafe Juliet, waiting.

Ann arrives a little later, stopping and mustering Captain Hammer with raised eyebrows. She doesn't know him, so she doesn't dislike him, but he does seem kind of full of himself and oh, she likes poking fun at people who're full of themselves.

Plus, hot chocolate. That alone is reason enough to be here, especially if he's paying. Ann isn't gorgeous by any standard, but she's reasonably cute and not above using that to score some free hot chocolate, ever.

"Hi."

"Hello, you must be Ann." He extends his hand. None of that fancy, kissing her hand business. She didn't seem the type.

"I must say, you look quite-" you can barely notice the hesitation where he realizes that he's used the word 'lovely' far too much in this conversation, "pretty," he finishes. "Especially since you've only just arrived! Then again, I suppose it doesn't come as a surprise that someone as generous as yourself would be so composed and enchanting."

"I must be, yes." She grins at first, but then her eyebrows rise higher and higher at his next words. Generous? Composed? Enchanting? Right. She tries to contain her laughter. Her lips might be twitching a bit, though.

"You said something about hot chocolate. So lead the way, Captain Hammer." Nope, she's never going to stop being amused by his name.

Hey, if you were to ask him, he would have completely logical reasons for describing her as such. That is, in Hammer!logic. So, fairly passable logic in normal terms.

He opens the door, gesturing with his hand. "Ladies first," after all, it didn't hurt to have some traditional charming techniques, "pick whichever table you would like."

Hammer!logic is very far removed from her logic. He doesn't even know her. The corners of her mouth twitching and trying to suppress a grin, Ann walks through the door and decides on a table that has a nice bench, placed against a wall. She doesn't like leaving her back open, so she slides on the bench.

"This one okay?" He did tell her to pick one, so any possible complaints will be ignored anyways, but asking is polite. So she asks.

"Looks fantastic to me." He flashes another grin. Oh yeah. He's hot. He sits on the opposite side of the table as her.

"Do feel free to order something other than a hot chocolate," he mentions as the waitress comes over, "I've got enough to splurge on a guest."

Ooof course he's hot. "I'll just take a hot chocolate, thanks." Not that she minds him splurging on her, but she doesn't actually want anything else.

"A girl's gotta watch her line, after all." No, she doesn't wink. He does enough flirting for the two of them, anything more and it would be completely ridiculous.

"I'll have the same," he grins at the woman taking the order, who giggles slightly before going off to place it.

"Oh, but surely someone like you isn't too concerned about their weight?"
